Early Life & Background

Pauline Angela Collins was born on 3 September 1940 in Exmouth, Devon, England. 

She grew up near Liverpool in a Catholic family of Irish extraction. 

Before acting full-time, she worked as a teacher until the early 1960s. 

She trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 

London.
